Other Lives plot return to Oklahoma with Cain’s Ballroom concert

When you open for the biggest band on the planet, doors swing wide open. Stillwater product Other Lives were enjoying a nice little run of success in the wake of their lauded 2011 effort, Tamer Animals, before a string of dates with Radiohead set them off to another stratosphere. Three years later, the band is settled in Portland, Oregon, and its lineup whittled down to the trio of Jesse Tabish, Josh Onstott and Jonathon Mooney (who have been playing together since 2004, originally as Kunek).

The emotionally devastating folk-rockers are back on the trail with a new album, Rituals, set for release on May 4, and they just announced a national tour in support of said record, including a June 13 stop at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa. It’s the band’s first show in Oklahoma since 2012. Duo Riothorse Royale will open, and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday.

Give the band’s decidedly less Dust Bowl-friendly single “Reconfiguration” (can’t help but hear a bit of Kid A in there) a listen below:
