Norman Music Festival adds Octopus Project, Paper Bird, Colourmusic and more to lineup

Norman Music Festival — the free downtown Norman extravaganza going down April 23-25 — has made yet another lineup expansion, announcing new bands added to the Opolis/Blackwatch Stage, The Depot Stage and the Main Stage joining previously announced names Ra Ra Riot, Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires, Nadastrom, Natalie Prass, Grooms and more.

The Octopus Project will headline the Opolis/Blackwatch Stage on Saturday, April 25. The Austin electronic band played the inaugural festival in 2008 and again in 2010. They’ll be joined by local favorites Colourmusic, Deerpeople, Rainbows Are Free, Kite Flying Robot, Power Pyramid, Applied Music Program, Copperheads, Beau Jennings & the Tigers, Sex Snobs, Nuns, Prettyboy, Bed People, Helen Kelter Skelter and more, all of whom will appear on either the indoor or outdoor stage on Thursday, Friday or Saturday night.

Joining headliner Lee Bains III & the Glory Fires on The Depot Stage on Saturday are Chicago bluegrass band Cornmeal and Denver indie-folk outfit Paper Bird. Other Depot Stage acts include Hosty, Steve Pryor, John Calvin Abney, Annie Oakley, Aaron Newman and Addison Baker. The full Depot Stage schedule is as follows:

With the addition of Oklahoma City garage-rockers Cosmostanza, the Saturday Main Stage schedule was also finalized:

2 p.m. – Elms
3 p.m. – Son of Stan
4:15 p.m. – Native Lights
5:30 p.m. – Grooms
6:30 p.m. – Johnny Polygon
8 p.m. – Natalie Prass
9:30 p.m. – Ra Ra Riot

Elsewhere, Oklahoma City emcee Josh Sallee and Houston rapper Roosh Williams were added to the Bacardi Stage, joining Nadastrom, Crystal Vision, Jabee and more artists to be announced.
