Tulsa rock ‘n’ roller/The Outsiders extra JD McPherson did so well with his freshman effort, Signs & Signifiers, that it’s just now — five years and a re-release later — that he’s finally able to add a new chapter to the book with Let the Good Times Roll, his sophomore album due next Tuesday, Feb. 10.

It’s streaming this week courtesy of NPR’s First Listen, so get yourself a little sneak preview while you can. Singles “Bossy” — which you can spot me playing air guitar to in and around Norman — and “Let the Good Times Roll” have been out there for a few months now, but here’s the chance to see how the rest of the material fleshes out … and it’s sounding pretty damn good to us. If you like what you hear, you can pre-order it over now at McPherson’s website.

Expect Oxford Karma‘s full review of the record next week.
