Oklahoma’s storied past in producing acclaimed folk songwriters is the envy of many. Flanked by John Fullbright and Parker Millsap, John Moreland is working hard to cement a bright future as well. With his lauded High on Tulsa Heat (read our review here) out earlier this year, more and more national exposure keeps coming his way. His latest brush with mainstream success is a recently announced string of dates out on the road in support of California roots-rock band Dawes, which includes a Wednesday, Aug. 5 concert at the ACM@UCO Performance Lab in Oklahoma City.

Dawes just released its fourth studio album All Your Favorite Bands at the top of June, and will spend the summer playing shows with the likes of Hozier and Mumford & Sons. The four-piece last cruised through Oklahoma in 2013 with a stop at Diamond Ballroom in support of 2013’s Stories Don’t End.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. Check out the other Dawes/Moreland team-ups over on Dawes’ website.
