Eric André to perform, probably break shit at University of Oklahoma

Eric André is about as interested in destruction as he is getting a laugh. Appearing on Friday, January 23 at the University of Oklahoma, the actor and comic can tone it down as needed, as he does as the smooth talking best friend on the innovative FXX comedy Man Seeking Woman or his role in The Internship. But he’s at his best when totally unhinged, and he’s never more of a loose cannon than he is with The Eric André Show. Like Between Two Ferns but in flames (often literally), the Adult Swim favorite is an absurdist, explosive take on all the late night talk show troupes, one that can go off the rails at any second.

Joined by a lackadaisical sidekick in Hannibal Buress (who also appeared at OU this past summer), there’s no shortage of memorable Eric André Show moments. Here are a few of our favorites:

That time he attacked Mac DeMarco:

That time he killed Hannibal:

That time he introduced Tyler, The Creator to his father:

That time he interviewed Reese Witherspoon:

That time(s) he destroyed his set:

We can’t help but think André won’t be able to resist unleashing his brand of mayhem on Norman before he skips town. He might bring a National Merit Scholar to Sugers or successfully pay with a credit card at The Diner. He could crash into Lloyd Noble Center in a Kia Optima and recite a Gamefly commercial to summon the spirit of Blake Griffin. Hopefully he destroys that corndog Katy Perry cursed Trevor Knight with. Maybe he’ll just have a nice, long conversation about life with David Boren at Victoria’s.*

You’ll just have to see André live to find out. The show starts at 7 p.m. at Meacham Auditorium, 900 Asp Ave., Norman. It’s free for students and the public alike on a first-come, first-serve basis. More information at: http://www.ou.edu/upb.html.

*That’s a My Dinner with Andre joke, people. Highbrow stuff here at Oxford Karma.

See Eric André break shit 7 p.m. Friday at OU’s Meacham Auditorium. Admission is free.
