Whew, that was exhausting. The best kind of exhausting, though. When a community comes together to do something as artistically rich and rewarding (and free) as Norman Music Festival 8 was, all those hours spent walking, standing, jumping, dancing, fist-pumping and sunscreen-applying feel totally worth it. Thousands of folks must have felt the same, as everyone from your salt-of-the-earth locals to toddlers to your most rabid music enthusiasts flooded the streets of downtown Norman for day three.

Yet the typically diverse crowd seemed to disperse among every corner of the festival grounds rather than drifting toward any individual stage — not all that surprising given the diversity and consistency of the acts on display. Either way, Saturday saw everything from the fest’s biggest headliners delivering top-notch performances to lesser-known acts charming unsuspecting pedestrians, something we attempted to capture in the slideshow below.
