Shannon & the Clams, Pure Bathing Culture set respective stops at Opolis in Norman

Fall album announcements are rolling in, and a pair of West Coast bands are planning Oklahoma shows in the midst of the tour runs in support of said new records. Oakland rockers Shannon & the Clams will make a Wednesday, September 30 pitstop at Opolis in Norman after releasing their latest LP Gone By Dawn earlier that same month. Portland duo Pure Bathing Culture — no strangers to Opolis, having played there with La Luz before — are set to return on Sunday, November 8, this time with fellow PDX indie outfit Wild Ones with a new record due in October.

Led by powerhouse front woman Shannon Shaw, Shannon & the Clams take the ’60s girl group tropes and give it their own spunky, rebellious spin, injecting steady doses of punk snarls and garage jangles to the doo-wop meets surf pop center. The released their last album, Dreams in the Rat House, back in 2013.

An offshoot of Vetiver and inspired by the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Cocteau Twins, dream pop duo Pure Bathing Culture first caught people’s attention with a self-titled EP back in 2012. Their full-length debut Moon Tides — anchored by the warm vibes of “Pendulum” — followed in 2013.

Tickets for each concert are on sale now.
