Norman electronic duo PVLMS’ new single is a heady after-hours affair

Something tells me that “A.M.” — the brand new track from Norman electronic duo PVLMS — was designed to be played post-midnight, not post-morning coffee. It’ll wake you up no matter what time you play it, though, adding to the legend of a fast-rising Oklahoma electronic product and anchors of a growing scene from which someone is destined to break out.

PVLMS masterminds Lexi Sacco and Frank Stevens have offered up a steady stream of standalone singles in the wake of their lovely, immersive 2014 debut EP, Compassion, each one dipping its toes into a deeper end of the dance music pool. “Memories” took the chilly, sound-collage approach toward club territory, whereas spooky “Gold” busted down the doors with a hip-hop-divined hook. The bass-heavy “Whistles” — which loops the viral YouTube sound of Bubb Rubb and his whistle-tip woot — followed, and now comes  “A.M.,” a straight house-music riot that fans of Disclosure’s breakout Settle will adore.
