The band formerly known as IndianGiver shall henceforth be known as Wildings, a move made official at last night’s Dope Chapel gig with Pile, SonicViolence, and Tonne. The change comes after some contentious debate over the context of “IndianGiver,” a term that has been used in a culturally insensitive and derogatory fashion by people who say culturally insensitive and derogatory things, and you can’t fault the band for wanting to quell the controversy and focus on making music.

Speaking of, Wildings are hard at work on their debut full-length, which should see the light of day here in the coming months. In fact, the Oklahoma City-based experimental pop quintet performed several new songs at our launch party back in January, and believe us when we say you’ll want to keep this release on your radar.

Wildings’ next gig is Thursday, April 9 at DC on Film Row in OKC. The Wurly Birds will also perform. Until then, wild out to/check out the band’s Understudies EP below.
